SERVICES RENDERED IN THE DEPARTMENT

Dr. Abdulhameed Bala Abubakar graduated with MBBS from ABU Zaria in 1980, and trained in Internal Medicine under West African College of Physicians and Endocrinology at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, University of London (Now Imperial College London). He obtained the fellowship (FWACP) in 1991. He is a recipient of the National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) Award in 2001.

• Medical Conditions; such as Stroke, Facial Palsy, Gullein – Barrein syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes Mellitus, Tuberculosis just to mention but few.


• Surgical and Orthopedic Conditions such as Pott’s Disease, Paralysis resulting from Spinal Cord Injury, Lumber and Cervical Spondylosis, Sport and Traumatic injuries, Sciatica, Arthritis of various types, Pain of Musculoskeletal origin, Burns , Post surgical cases like Fractures and respiratory conditions etc.
• Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Erb’s Palsy, Cerebral Palsy, Talipes Equinovarus/valgus, Sickle Cell disease, Fractures, Torticolis, Burns, Poliomyelitis, Respiratory conditions, Meningitis, Sacro-iliac joint dysfunction, Pubic–symphysis dysfunction, Post Partum Palsy etc.


• Our services is also extended to special units like Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), Eye clinic, Dental Clinic and STC Clinic.
• Not only that, physiotherapy department also offer physical fitness services to apparently healthy individuals on request and this includes weight reduction programme and fitness exercises.

• Outpatient:8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Mondays to Fridays)


• Inpatient: 24 hours (Daily)

EQUIPMENTS

Electrotherapy equipment: such as Infra Red therapy machine, Interferential therapy machine, Transcutanous Electrical Nerve Stimulator (TENS), Ultrasound therapy machine, Ice making machine. Traction; available also are cervical and lumbar traction equipments. Our gymnasium is equipped with facilities like bicycle ergometer, arm ergometer, quadriceps bench, thread mill, resistance steppers, wobble board, hand therapy board, exercise stairs reciprocal pulley, parallel bar, wall mirror, shoulder wheel, wall ladder etc. We arealso equipped with rehabilitation facilities like crutches both for children and adult, walking frame wheel chairs standing and sitting boxes for children. We are able to meet the challenges of modern health care. Thanks to the hospital management, Kaduna State Ministry of Health and His Excellencythe Executive Governor of Kaduna State.
