PROFILE OF THE CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Born in June 1969 in the ancient city of Zaria, Zaria Local Government area of Kaduna State. Prof. Musa Tabari attended L.E.A. Primary School in Zaria city between 1974 – 1980, he also attended Alhudahuda College and the Government Day Secondary School Zaria in the years of 1980 – 1983, 1983 – 1985 for his junior and senior Secondary education respectively.

He attended the School of Basic Studies (SBS) and the Faculty of Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 1985 – 1992 where he wrote and passed IJMB examination that allowed him to study and graduate with MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree from the same prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His mandatory one year house – manship was at the former Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Kaduna from 1992 – 1993, while he served another one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Primary Health Centre, Odot, Akwa Ibom State between 1993 – 1994. In his passion for education, Prof. Musa Tabari’s postgraduate academic education and qualification started at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) Ilorin, Kwara State with Residency Training in Radiology which led him acquire Fellowship of the Faculty of Radiology, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) between 1998 – 2002, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) / National Naval Medical Centre, Bethesda, Maryland, United States of America (USA), in 2004 for post Fellowship Specialization on Tropical Imaging and Super – Specialization on Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Medical University of Graz / LandeskrankenHaus, Austria in 2009 and 2011 and at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India in 2016.

He served in different capacities as Consultant Radiologist at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Kano Nigeria between the year 2003 – 2017. Prof. Musa Tabari held academic positions at the Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Nigeria rising from senior lecturer in 2003 to professor of Radiology in 2012.
His doggedness and hard work compelled him to publish over 50 peer reviewed articles in both National and International journals.
His contributions to the development of medicine and medical sciences in Nigeria and indeed West Africa was in the field of Interventional Radiology where he was the first to introduce and performed the following procedures.

Prof. Musa Tabari contributed in the training and graduation of both undergraduate and postgraduate students in various disciplines of medicine and supervised several postgraduate dissertations and theses. He held various administrative and academic positions. He was the Head Department of Medical Radiology, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) Kano / Bayero University Kano, Pioneer Deputy Provost, College of Health Sciences, Bayero University, Kano, and recently the pioneer Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Kaduna State University (KASU), Kaduna Nigeria.
Prof. Musa Tabari travelled widely in 4 of 5 continents of the world to United States of America USA), United Kingdom (UK), Austria, Slovenia, Netherlands, France, South Koria, China, Singapore, Egypt, and India. He is happily married with children.
